Our next Member Meeting will be a WebEx virtual session Thursday, September 21st from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, with guest speaker Kirste Webb. The topic of the presentation will be "To Team or Not To Team: Insights and Guidance on Teaming Arrangements." Special Guest, Tammy Pressnell, Catawba Corporations will be joining Kirste for this presentation.

In today’s highly competitive marketplace, we are seeing numerous teaming arrangements pursuing opportunities. Even for those experienced in building these teams, there are many nuances to understand when negotiating teaming arrangements, such as limitations on subcontracting or ostensible subcontracting rule. This month we are pleased to have one of our own Board members offer some insights and guidance for teaming and some of the red flags to watch out for along the way.

Ms. Kirste Webb, who has been in the Oak Ridge community for 23 years providing business development services for both large and small businesses, is also a volunteer counselor supporting the East Tennessee APEX Accelerator (formerly known as the Procurement Technical Assistance Center or PTAC) and this session is extracted from capture training that she provides for the APEX Accelerator and highlights how to determine if you should team, the types of teams and their advantages and disadvantages, and a summary of the regulations that need to be followed when building those teams.
